How to Organize a Public Talk

How to organize a Public Event

Both Rob and Tim are passionate about bringing a message of empowerment and inspiration to people affected cancer (and the professionals who serve them).

Our public talks and seminars are usually more participatory than most public events, although we can provide more didactic presentations. Typically, the audience will be asked to join in meditations, gentle standing exercises, and be engaged in exercises which foster reflection and learning. The combination of evidenced-based advice, wisdom-based healing techniques and stories of ordinary yet remarkable people on the cancer journey creates has received glowing reviews.  (see an example presentations by viewing our public talks).

The format of the events can be varied. We have presented to large and small groups, as public talks, day-long seminars, keynotes at conferences, grand rounds at hospitals and cancer centres, and at weekend retreats. We have a system of presenting via live web-streaming and prefer this is cost-effective and environmentally friendly medium for simple public or conference presentations. If we visit a city, we prefer to participate in multiple events such as combining a public talks, with seminars and presentations to professionals. We are happy to promote the events through the media, making ourselves available for all types of interviews.

The cost of having us present is reasonable, and will depend on the resources of the local organizers. Rob does not charge but would ask that a donation be made to the Healing and Cancer Foundation in lieu of a speaking fee. We can sell books and DVD sets to reduce the cost to the organizers.
